On a rainy weekend in September, runners from all across the country converged on the quiet seaside town of Ventnor in the Isle of Wight to take part in a gruelling series of fell races.
A short film celebrating the opening of Foley’s Bar Shanklin, which is part of the Shanklin Beach Hotel one of the oldest hotels on the Isle of Wight. The bar was opened to the sound of pipers followed by music from Beckett.
‘While using my GoPro camera to film the Sandown & Shanklin Independent Lifeboat crew from a marker buoy, my GoPro camera fell into the sea. Luckily I had fitted a ‘Waterbuoy’ floatation device which successfully inflated and allowed the GoPro to be rescued. Phew!! And it did capture some interesting footage.’ Brain Russell
For artist Paul Critchley, working with molten glass provides the perfect medium to express his love of art and sculpture.
Paul, the owner of Diamond Isle Sculptured Glass, which is based at Arreton Barns on the Isle of Wight enjoys making elaborate blown vases as well as small glass birds and animals. His ideas come from the local environment and his love of the island.
A New Years Day Swim Event in support of the Sandown & Shanklin Independent Lifeboat.
Crew members, friends and supporters of the Lifeboat took part in this fund raising event to kick start the year. Even the sun decided to show its face. Well done to everyone involved.
