Classic Boat Museum

Find a collection of extraordinary boats from the past in the Classic Boats Museum, which hosts up to 60 veteran craft and dozens of marine artefacts lovingly cared for by a group of volunteers.

There’s some military history there, since you will find the one remaining airborne lifeboat designed by the Island’s own Uffa Fox in WW2, Lord Brabazon’s autogyro rigged Bembridge Redwing and ‘Coweslip’, the Flying Fifteen belonging to HRH Prince Philip, to everyday dinghies, canoes and rowing boats, as well as elegant river craft, powerboats and Marine Commando canoes once used in active service. Visit them to see past elegance as well as practical boats, many of which were built or designed here on the Island.

The Museum has recently moved to Cowes, check their website for more information.
